Due to the heavy snow loads a few years ago numerous Arch style and fabric buildings on farms collapsed. This farm owner decided to go with a straight wall steel building as a replacement instead of going with another Quonset-style building. They were very happy with the heavy steel structure and commented on the extra height and room. With an arch-style building, a lot of usable space is lost due to the curvature of the walls. It was also completed at the same budget as was allowed for an arch-style building.
Rigid frame steel buildings offer excellent value and are very durable. They are ideal for residential and commercial applications. Quonset huts are difficult to insulate due to the lack of framing while straight wall buildings can be insulated easily at a later date.
